Good afternoon everyone Just thought I would do a little post about what I am making at the minute with the sewing machine. Well its been so hot here at the minute I have been none stop sewing from a break from the sunshine its been too hot for me.
So here are some of my glasses cases, sunglasses covers which I love to make and if your looking for a small gift for anyone these are ideal especially if someone keeps a spare pair of glasses in the car or like my friend a spare pair in each room of the house which I found funny so these cases would look after your lenses.
Less dust and saves scratching them with these padded cases made from 100% cotton fabric and they can been put straight in the washing machine and wouldn't take long to dry so you can been back using them. Here is a few pictures of them and they are all for sale in my etsy store Here

Fab Chicken fabric which has wadding/batting inside for padding. These are £5 plus £1.25 postage and if you want two of these glasses cases just 25p postage added for 2nd case.

Hammer and nail fabric perfect for the men for a small gift to keep there glasses/shades in.

Fab Sparkly Pink fabric lovely pressie for the girls.

I have loads of fabric so if there is something your looking for just ask I might be able to sort something out for you. Ps I don't bite lol

Wreath wall hanging

Made this to hang on my wall for Christmas and loved making it, my friend made the same but in Black & White which looked so nice and really stood out.

This was after I had just done free motion quilting on the front and was my first time so was a bit scary to say the least I thought I was going to make a real mess of it but was pleased how it came out. This is a picture of the hanging when I had just attached the binding which I have now hand sewn it so it is finished and looks amazing.
Lovely Cushion

Fab cushion I've just made and really enjoyed making it I might make another one with maybe just ribbon's & see what it turns out like.  this cushion is SOLD

I have a new sewing machine and its an absolute amazing machine just wish I had bought one like this years ago its just fantastic. Makes making things so easy it just gets on with it with no messing at all I love it.

I think I will be posting loads more things that I have made with me playing with this dream machine every day now. Plus keep an eye out for maybe a few giveaways along the way.

Sad & happy times

Well not been on here for a while but my dog died at the age of 9 which was young for a staffy and she is so missed by us still but thankfully we still have her son Blue. We also have Holly the 10 year old boxer so we decided to get another pup to keep Blue on his toe's which she does and is 6 month's old now. She is a shih tzu.

Top pic is Belle shih tzu

Middle picture is Cas who died x

bottom picture is Holly the boxer age 10, Blue the staffy aged 8

Think we can safely say they all get on brilliantly well and are so funny to watch.

Fantastic Kindle Cover Tuff-Luv It's a must buy I would say.

Tuff-Luv Embrace Amazon Kindle Cover - Electric Blue

Kindle Covers

My husband has taken charge of this cover Tuff-Luv Embrace Amazon Kindle Cover - Electric Blue which can be bought at http://www.lovecases.co.uk/  or  http://www.gearzap.com/

It has meant he could take his Kindle to work to read at lunchtime, he used to worry the screen would get damaged but the Tuff-Luv cover has solved this problem. The Kindle fits in perfectly and is held securely by the corner straps and the cover is then held in place bay an elastic band like an old fashioned journal. The cover is beautifully made and whilst it has a lifetime guarantee I think this is offered because they are so well made it will not be needed.

The cover still allows access to the Kindles controls and so you can still enjoy one handed reading, which is dead handy when you are trying to get to the end of your chapter before you get the the end of your sandwiches. If you are reading on the go the strap on the back help you to hold the Kindle without having to reach round the case which is much easier on the hand.

The case we got is in a lovely bright blue but other colours are available. My husband wouldn't be without this fantastic case, a great quality product, at a great price. Highly recommended by my husband and probably by me as well if I could get it back off him.

Having fun with my Kenwood Ice Cream Maker IM200

I know it's not the weather for Ice cream but you can't beat making your own Ice cream and with my husband loving ice cream so much I thought it was time to buy one with some voucher's I had won. Then the dilema was which one to buy so I had a good search around and found this one which was very cheap so wasn't sure if it would work so well but low and behold it works a treat. It's one that you can leave the bowl in the freezer so that your ready to make ice cream at any time you fancy some. It doe's take up a fair bit of room in the freezer though but this way you don't have to wait for the bowl to freeze before use if you use then wash and put straight back in the freezer till next time. I first tried some lactose free milk, with me having problems with dairy this was an ideal way for me to have a treat with using my own milk. It was so easy to use and I had made Vanilla ice cream in no time at all only had to put the milk, cream, sugar and vanilla extract in a jug and stir then start the machine going and pour in thats it and wait for 25 - 40 minutes and it was done absolutely amazing and so so easy. So then I was hooked and started making allsorts of flavours I made my hubbies favourite Rum & Raisen then I made Banana ice wow that was so nice. So if your thinking of getting an ice cream maker do it because you will be amazed we were. Here are some of the different machines and prices below. This one from amazon is £39.45 Kenwood IM250. This one is fun for all the family priced at £24.95 it's one that you just have to keep moving and can pass around the room for everyone to help make it fun & yummy. This one is a serious Gelato Chef 2200 Ice cream maker £229.99 but Wow would love one of these.

Busy times

I've been very busy these last few week's with wood yes wood my husband has had me out with him in this freezing cold weather cutting and splitting wood. The only good thing is we have a wood splitter that plugs into the electric so keeps me away from trying to use a massive ax because I'm sure I wouldn't be very safe with that i would look like the mad ax woman.

As you can see the wood keeps us very very busy all year supplying a few of our neighbor's The length of the wood you can see is 1 metre lengths so a alot of wood we go through every year. We have 3 chainsaw's to use but the poor things are starting to get tired and we do use alot of chains & at least one cutter bar every year. I don't need to go to the gym because I get plenty of exercise lugging these logs about a few times a week. The next picture is my baby the electric log splitter  wow best present I've ever had lol I hate letting people on it but now and again I will share it lol. This is it and its amazing the size of logs it will split with no effort apart from one button and a lever that's it.

My hubby still uses the big ax sometime's but so easy to use my machine so that's my job and with the weather being so cold we have been trying to get as much wood in the barn as we can.

The picture below is my inset log burner in my kitchen and I love it it gets so toastie and warm in there and it takes 500 mm log's so quite a big fire. We have another one similair that has been fitted into our living room that we are renovating from an old room that had an earth floor but we are finding it hard to do wood, work & renovate but slowly we are getting there we have put 2 windows in and 2 to go but it takes a while to get the whole ready for a window with the cob wall's being 3 foot thick.
