Sad & happy times

Well not been on here for a while but my dog died at the age of 9 which was young for a staffy and she is so missed by us still but thankfully we still have her son Blue. We also have Holly the 10 year old boxer so we decided to get another pup to keep Blue on his toe's which she does and is 6 month's old now. She is a shih tzu.

Top pic is Belle shih tzu

Middle picture is Cas who died x

bottom picture is Holly the boxer age 10, Blue the staffy aged 8

Think we can safely say they all get on brilliantly well and are so funny to watch.

Fantastic Kindle Cover Tuff-Luv It's a must buy I would say.

Tuff-Luv Embrace Amazon Kindle Cover - Electric Blue

Kindle Covers

My husband has taken charge of this cover Tuff-Luv Embrace Amazon Kindle Cover - Electric Blue which can be bought at http://www.lovecases.co.uk/  or  http://www.gearzap.com/

It has meant he could take his Kindle to work to read at lunchtime, he used to worry the screen would get damaged but the Tuff-Luv cover has solved this problem. The Kindle fits in perfectly and is held securely by the corner straps and the cover is then held in place bay an elastic band like an old fashioned journal. The cover is beautifully made and whilst it has a lifetime guarantee I think this is offered because they are so well made it will not be needed.

The cover still allows access to the Kindles controls and so you can still enjoy one handed reading, which is dead handy when you are trying to get to the end of your chapter before you get the the end of your sandwiches. If you are reading on the go the strap on the back help you to hold the Kindle without having to reach round the case which is much easier on the hand.

The case we got is in a lovely bright blue but other colours are available. My husband wouldn't be without this fantastic case, a great quality product, at a great price. Highly recommended by my husband and probably by me as well if I could get it back off him.

Having fun with my Kenwood Ice Cream Maker IM200

I know it's not the weather for Ice cream but you can't beat making your own Ice cream and with my husband loving ice cream so much I thought it was time to buy one with some voucher's I had won. Then the dilema was which one to buy so I had a good search around and found this one which was very cheap so wasn't sure if it would work so well but low and behold it works a treat. It's one that you can leave the bowl in the freezer so that your ready to make ice cream at any time you fancy some. It doe's take up a fair bit of room in the freezer though but this way you don't have to wait for the bowl to freeze before use if you use then wash and put straight back in the freezer till next time. I first tried some lactose free milk, with me having problems with dairy this was an ideal way for me to have a treat with using my own milk. It was so easy to use and I had made Vanilla ice cream in no time at all only had to put the milk, cream, sugar and vanilla extract in a jug and stir then start the machine going and pour in thats it and wait for 25 - 40 minutes and it was done absolutely amazing and so so easy. So then I was hooked and started making allsorts of flavours I made my hubbies favourite Rum & Raisen then I made Banana ice wow that was so nice. So if your thinking of getting an ice cream maker do it because you will be amazed we were. Here are some of the different machines and prices below. This one from amazon is £39.45 Kenwood IM250. This one is fun for all the family priced at £24.95 it's one that you just have to keep moving and can pass around the room for everyone to help make it fun & yummy. This one is a serious Gelato Chef 2200 Ice cream maker £229.99 but Wow would love one of these.

Busy times

I've been very busy these last few week's with wood yes wood my husband has had me out with him in this freezing cold weather cutting and splitting wood. The only good thing is we have a wood splitter that plugs into the electric so keeps me away from trying to use a massive ax because I'm sure I wouldn't be very safe with that i would look like the mad ax woman.

As you can see the wood keeps us very very busy all year supplying a few of our neighbor's The length of the wood you can see is 1 metre lengths so a alot of wood we go through every year. We have 3 chainsaw's to use but the poor things are starting to get tired and we do use alot of chains & at least one cutter bar every year. I don't need to go to the gym because I get plenty of exercise lugging these logs about a few times a week. The next picture is my baby the electric log splitter  wow best present I've ever had lol I hate letting people on it but now and again I will share it lol. This is it and its amazing the size of logs it will split with no effort apart from one button and a lever that's it.

My hubby still uses the big ax sometime's but so easy to use my machine so that's my job and with the weather being so cold we have been trying to get as much wood in the barn as we can.

The picture below is my inset log burner in my kitchen and I love it it gets so toastie and warm in there and it takes 500 mm log's so quite a big fire. We have another one similair that has been fitted into our living room that we are renovating from an old room that had an earth floor but we are finding it hard to do wood, work & renovate but slowly we are getting there we have put 2 windows in and 2 to go but it takes a while to get the whole ready for a window with the cob wall's being 3 foot thick.

Owning an Ipad not all there cracked upto be.

Well i've had one of the first Ipad's that came out and to be honest they are very good but there is such alot of things you can't do on them so before just buying one have a play on one and go through what you would normally do on a pc to be certain that you will be able to play what you want on an ipad.

Like I said ive had mine a few years now and never had any trouble with it but I think I would if I was buying another tablet certainly look at other one's that at around at the minute because there are some amazing one's at alot less money that will run java for playing online games. I actually quite like the look of the Blackberry playbook or the Google Nexus 7 which has a great long battery life which is very handy indeed. But my favourite is the Samsung Galaxy tablet I would quite like a camera with my old ipad not having one. The Samsung Galaxy Tablet looks fab and love the feature of doing screenshots which is very handy indeed for what I would be using it for. So hopefully in the future I will get one of these to have a good play on and should use it more than I do the Ipad.

Then the next job will be to update my phone so I need to do abit of investigating around some of the review site's on phone's so that I get everything I want from a phone before I buy one. I will tell you all i'm still using a Nokia N70 please don't laugh lol ive had it since the world cup 2006 and that still come's on when I turn the phone on and yes it always's makes all my friends chuckle when they here it and have to go and have a look at it. In a few years it will be antique lol so yes it's certainly time for a nice change and one that I can get online with .

I quite fancy and Xperia or Samsung S3 they look great so will have to have a look and a feel of them and see what there like to use. As you can see this year is the year for upgrading gadget's for us so I said once i've been sorted out properly with all this we will start on his but maybe next year because his are all ok but might upgrade his basic kindle to a kindle fire for him with him working so hard he need's a treat bless him.

This is such a fantastic quilt and have to be honest my sister made it but this summer when she comes to visit is going to show me how to make it. I've been making quilts for a couple of years now and did learn fast it looks harder than it is and once you have a go you soon get hooked. Ive made baby quilts, taggy's, place mats and cushion fronts once you have a go there's no stopping you, I'm on with a project that is for my super king size bed so the quilt is going to take me a while to do it's massive but will be lovely when finished.

This was one of my first lap quilt's I did the picture's shows you just the quilt top and backing on it I just had to go around the edge's with a small border and binding which didn't take long to finish and now is on the bottom of the spare bed and looks great.

I wonder if anyone would like a giveaway but I need follower's before I can do one UK only sorry

My 3 fantastic dog's

These are my fabulous 3 dogs left to right Holly, Blue and Pee pee yeah I know it's a weird name but as a pup she used to pee pee all over the place and thankfully she grew out of it very quickly lol but the name stuck with her and her real name is Cas.

They are such star's and all very individual's charactors, they are so funny in the snow and Holly just wants to run and run and run she runs right around the field then around the house and back again till she needs to stop for a rest.

Triple yolker egg's for breakfast

This is the triple yolker I was on about that we had and as soon as we picked the egg up we knew it was more than a double yolker so that's why we video'd it. Absolutely amazing when 3 yolks came out, it made our sunday morning that did.

Well another year gone and can't complain about 2012 was a pretty good year alround for us.
I didn't do my veg past last year with not being well for a few month's but will definitely be doing it this year Ive missed not being able to just go and pick what fruit and veg we wanted daily. The main thing that we missed was our dog Blue he is so funny with the sprout plants he picks his own sprouts off the plant and eats them plus the apple tree's we have are only small yet and he can reach the apple's aswel which he does eat lol really funny to watch and I will put a video of him picking his fruit & veg on here for you to see.

We haven't had any more double or triple yolker's this year but still it was amazing to see a triple and will probably never see another one again in my lifetime. We put it on you tube and amazing all the comments we got about it.

Well my competitions I enter on a daily basis was amazing wow I had some good Win's last year so will carry on entering them and you get such a lovely feeling when you get a winning email saying what you have won it's very nice and I might add some of the wins on here as I win them its interesting to see what I win and as they say you have to be in it to win it.
